LIPU Oasis of Massaciuccoli is managed by the Italian League for Bird Protection/BirdLife Italia since 1985 and it is part of the Migliarino Park, San Rossore, Massaciuccoli, established in 1979. This natural reserve presents a unique nature trail which includes a wooden walkway on stilts along about 800 meters. This route extends through reeds and lowland damp woodland, offering breathtaking views of the local flora and fauna.
 

Wildlife Observation

The path leads to four observation huts, from which you can admire a wide range of bird species, as well as insects, fish and other aquatic organisms. The area is an important resting, wintering and breeding point for numerous birds. You can also visit a butterfly garden, designed to nourish and protect these insects at all stages of their life cycle.

For those who wish to enjoy an even more immersive experience, the Oasis offers various opportunities for aquatic exploration, such as boat tours for groups, and the possibility of sailing in a punt or canoe for individual visitors. Entrance to the LIPU Oasis of Massaciuccoli is free for non-organised visitors, available every day from dawn to dusk. An offering container is positioned at the entrance for those who wish to contribute to the maintenance and activities of the Reserve. For organized groups, it is necessary to book the visit in advance.
