Sea and sun on this wonderful natural free beach. Located in the Darsena of Viareggio, one of the wildest coasts in Tuscany located at the end of the avenue. There is also an important part of Viareggio's nightlife takes place.

After passing the long series of private beaches on Viale Europa, in this lively seaside resort, kilometers and kilometers of ultra-protected beach of the Migliarino-San Rossore-Massaciuccoli Natural Park begin after a barrier that delimits access to motor vehicles.

A very long strip of sand considered one of the most evocative and beautiful beaches in Tuscany, which extends for 5 km from Viareggio to Torre del Lago Puccini, then continues up to the delta of river Serchio, that is very wide more than 200 meters.  You can see lush vegetation of the Levante pine forest, part of the San Rossore park.

In a wonderful natural environment, a succession of dunes with low vegetation connect the beach to the pine forest where you can experience the sea in an almost wild state, put your towel on the fine sand, let yourself be lulled by the sun, listen to the natural sound of the sea and breathe in the air which is a mix of scents between the salty and the inebriating aroma of the low vegetation of the sand dunes behind you, a scent of an island lost in the middle of the sea.

You can also take a long walk on the paths inside the pine forest up to the area called Lecciona, the free and uncontaminated beach par excellence in Viareggio, which can be reached on foot or by bike from the narrow streets that cut through the pine forest, crossing wooden bridges to overcome the natural lakes that form due to rain in some places.

This important seaside resort in Tuscany will know how to make itself appreciated. The sea is very clean, but sometimes the sandy bottom makes the color slightly opaque.

Finally, from an environmental point of view, this is one of the few stretches of coast in Tuscany that have remained in their natural state, with the characteristic dunes covered in pioneer vegetation which allows them to consolidate, thus opposing erosion.
